Bakuhan - Medicinal Mineral
Bakuhan is a volcanic rock that holds the distinction of being the only natural mineral ever to have been officially certified by the Japanese Ministry of Health as a Medicinal Mineral.
The first Wellness Filter containing Bakuhan was originally released in Japan in early 1985. Shortly thereafter reports from consumers and healthcare professionals began to surface attesting to the benefits experienced by users drinking or bathing in the treated water.
These reports became so widespread that the Japanese Ministry of Health decided to conduct a formal study into the effect of water treated with Bakuhan on patients.

Over 300 people were treated over a number of years at Kitazato Medical School of Public Health. These studies focused on repeated bathing in and/or drinking water treated with Bakuhan rocks or powder. The Ministry of Health findings included;
